New Mac mini go for launch →
I don’t know what to say about the optical drive. On the one hand, I guess it’s cool that it’s there, because it then means you have the “option” to upgrade it to a Blu–ray drive later. On the other, it means the footprint’s not going to get smaller.

Every now and again, I get urges to pull out the O2 SIM from the 3G and put it into the original Keeley Fox (that’s what I call my iPhones). Nostalgia, I guess.
Should I update the old one so that it’s in a (marginally?) more usable state, or should I keep it as it is and just freeze it in time? It’d be cool to leave it as it is I guess, because it’s then essentially...

Phantom: Love Never Dies, the sequel to Lloyd... →
First off all, there shouldn’t be a sequel. The first one was bad enough. Secondly, I suspect that, while it may open big in China, it won’t be sustainable in the long run.

Typically, I’m averse to musicals on stage or film, with the rare exception of The Producers. That said, this has my attention, sort of. Only trouble is I can’t seem to find a cinema in the UK showing this.
(Reviews seem mixed to negative. Hmm…)

I’m trying to finish the final races of Burnout Paradise (5 more wins to go before the Elite license), and I swear that the game, just for the sake of fucking with you, spawns a fucking car on the finish line if you’re about to win, making you crash and end up fourth instead. It’s like it’s got a fuck-with knob rather than a difficulty knob.

Just saw the most recent episode of Top Gear (I get them from iTunes, where they’re released a week later than the normal schedule on TV), and I’m glad that Clarkson has (finally) given the Tesla a go.
Possible spoiler
Kinda surprised to see that they’ve somehow managed to go through the batteries so quickly, but then that may be because the cars were driven there, and not...

Looks to be more enjoyable than Font Book, but I do wonder what might happen to the tag bar when you start making tons of them.

"A New Bus for London" Design Winners →
In my opinion, I think Jamie Martin’s design looks just right, and most likely to resemble the final production model. The others add too much unnecessary design details to it.
There’s another one I liked (but obviously didn’t win because it isn’t features here), and it’s the On Route Bus. It’s not instantly recognisable as a Routemaster, which is probably the...

Self–teach CSS: Books? What books?
Um, it’s quite amazing, to me at least, how much CSS you can learn just by Googling and looking at other people’s sites. My new theme is coming along somewhere–between–quite–to–very nicely (I’d dare say maybe roughly 80%), which is a lot quicker than I expected. I though it was going to take weeks to figure out (I’ve never done any proper coding), but like I said, Google...

This is Where We Live by Apt Studio
Using more than 1000 books and three weeks of filming in stop-motion, the producers Apt Studio and working with Asylum Films made this beautiful film to commemorate the 25th anniversary of imprint 4th Estate. The film contains numerous in-jokes and references to the books it features, and everything, from the ships in port to the cinema in Soho to the man...

Christmas Project
It’s not often that I set goals for myself. I don’t usually achieve them because I get distracted easily, and someday I’ll look back and regret not doing it and decide that I suck.
This Christmas break though, I want to make a new theme (I’m tired of being jealous of other people’s Tumblrs), so I think I’m going to make it my project. Which means I’m...
