Having missed the last two because I was in the wrong country, I’m not going to miss this last debate.
Were the last two like this? It’s like bickering.
Really David? You had to write down “no life on the dole”?

HP to Acquire Palm for $1.2 Billion →
There goes Palm’s patent portfolio, but more importantly I hope HP can make something of webOS.

“We Rule” and iPhone's Headset Controls →
We Rule doesn’t yet have an option to mute its background music yet — which gets annoying quick — so I usually either silence my phone or plug in my hf2 and listen to my music instead.
Problem is, the game doesn’t handle input from the headset’s control properly. Pressing it once pauses my iPod music, but it also triggers the sound from the intro clip for New Toy. And resuming...

That’s why Alicia in The Good Wife looks so familiar: she was Neena in Scrubs.

Just sighted: that upside–down clamshell phone Samsung collaborated on with Bang & Olufsen.
Either that, or a very good knockoff of it.

Plus+ slowness →
I’ve picked the wrong time to succumb to the buzz of We Rule. Can’t connect at all.
By the way, is it pronounced “plus plus”, or just “plus”?

Facebook integration in iPhone OS 4? →
Whatever the industrial design turns out to be, I’m more interested in the software. Things such as this.
Like I’ve said before, I want Facebook to be a universal self–updating phonebook. This’ll help popularise the concept I guess, but it still only solves half the problem: the rest of the world has to be comfortable with keeping their contact details up–to–date and accurate...

Watching F1: 2010 Chinese GP
A day late — damn you, slow BitTorrent — but I’m watching it now.
Please Bernie, come up with longer, more explanatory answers please.
Why is it called the “F duct” anyway? Why “F”?
That’s one of Martin’s better grid walks.
Glock? What’s up with that? Pun sorta intended.
So Alonso did or didn’t jump the start? Oh wait, all we need is a...

Trying to avoid catching any news of this weekend’s Grand Prix until I watch it for myself. That includes running out of the room when it comes up during the news on TV — spoiler alerts would be nice — and imposing an excrutiating Internet ban on myself.

I’m in the same timezone as this weekend’s Grand Prix, but my parents haven’t subscribed to the channel that broadcasts Formula One here in The Chinese Takeaway. Where’s the BBC when you need them‽

Every Time Zone →
chrisbowler:
What a fantastic site over at everytimezone.com. The purpose: make it easy for people to figure out what time it is somewhere else. With the sliding scale, it’s an excellent approach to a common headache.
It looks like there are still some bugs to work out though — my time should be the same as San Francisco.

I’d thought — and hoped to some degree, because I don’t want to rely on discs anymore — that Microsoft would release Halo 2 on Games on Demand today and capitalise on The Last Day to Play Games for the Original Xbox over Xbox Live.
Oh well, at least I have it.

Suddenly it’s like a big “duh”, considering that Mac OS X’s iCal icon shows July 17: the day the app was shown to Macworld New York back in 2002.
Forstall’s explanation for why iPhones and iPads always show 9:4x time applies for the iPhone’s announcement —...

Reading Between the iPhone OS 4.0 Lines →
John Gruber:
When the user leaves one app for another, the app that is being put into the background receives an event from the OS telling it that it is about to be paused, and at this point it has a chance to store its state, ask for time in the background to complete a task like a file upload, and register specific threads that will continue performing specific lightweight tasks like audio...

Following the Liveblog: iPhone OS 4.0 Announcement
Gowalla tidying: paused. I’ll be with Engadget.
UI–wise at least, I think I prefer webOS’ “cards” metaphor.
But are they using Mac OS X’s pause function to achieve multitasking? If they are, that’s not much better than the current situation, e.g. Spotify will still have to pause when it’s in the background, and so I keep listening to it while browsing.

If I hadn’t remembered I would’ve kept on editing spots on Gowalla as if no Apple announcement’s starting soon.
Seriously, tidying up Gowalla is addictive. This is the first time I’ve been on Tumblr all day, and I haven’t even checked my feeds.
