Watching F1: 2010 Turkish GP
Does HTML5 <video> support live programming? It’d be nice if I can watch F1 on the BBC website on my iPad.
Jake’s really demo-ing the iPad.
That’s some Hamilton fans…
“Hey David! …” Martin forgot to introduce himself to Nicole?
I always find it hilarious seeing all the Red Bull mechanics standing guard around their cars to protect their secrets.

Noo! Come back Wikipedia! Where are you?!
Crisis averted. But seriously though, was it just my Internet, or did Wikipedia have another brief meltdown?

Next Apple TV: cloud storage and iPhone OS on... →
Sounds perfectly logical, but how do you interact with it? How do you navigate? How do you search for your movies and TV programmes? Do you use the same six‑button Apple Remote and onscreen keyboard? Does Apple supply a hardware keyboard? Is it going to be BYODKM like the Mac mini? No doubt the Remote app will work, but what if someone doesn’t already own an iPhone or an iPod touch?

O2, I am deeply disappointed in your decision to compress images that comes into my iPad over 3G. Even AT&T doesn’t do that.

Formula One Goes to Austin, Texas in 2012 →
I would love to have seen F1 cars racing through the streets of New York, maybe even at night à la Singapore, but I’m glad that it’s going to Austin simply because that’s where Gowalla’s headquartered.

What the fuck!? That’s four fucking spiders now! Is it the fucking breeding season or something?
Update: Where the fuck are they coming from? Just found another one, which means I’ve seen a medium, a small, and a miniscule today alone. Small just got fucking killed.

MEPs get £4m taste for Apple iPad →
Times:
The iPad plan was disclosed by a senior bureau source who was too worried to reveal his name. “We could get rid of our old PCs, some of which have outdated software such as Microsoft Word 2003,” the source said.
“The majority of MEPs have already got iPhones and they are very happy with them. The PC was good for its time but the iPad is a much better device.”
The money’s been...

Sky TV for iPad →
I don’t — yet — have an iPad, nor do I have, need, or want a subscription to Sky. And personally I’m more looking forward to watching the BBC’s live coverage of Formula One than the Premier League or the World Cup to be honest. But for now this is probably the closest thing the UK has to the ABC Player or Netflix in the US, and it’s sometimes better. Think about it: being...

Numpads Gone Wild →
Makes me wonder if Midnight Apps came to the same conclusion as to why they should use the phone‑style numpad for their iPhone version of Cha-Ching.
And personally I do prefer the phone layout to the calculator layout.

Globe journalist’s son crashes $180,000 Porsche →
Parenting is nowhere near my list of concerns right now, but it’s still fun to read how Dad — and Porsche — dealt with the situation.

iStudiez Pro →
@sophiestication:
iStudiez Pro, an incredible iPad app from someone who “gets it”. The UI makes me jealous!
It’s gonna be September before I’ll have any use for this app — and I don’t think I’ll be needing it since Things is serving me very well already — but it certainly seems to be the perfect planner. A planner that will actually be used, unlike the ones I had when...

Michael Bay drops Megan Fox from “Transformers 3” →
I’d recommend… Fuck, I’ve got no one. Wait, Hayden Panettiere maybe? She needs a part now that Heroes is dead. But she’s still not quite Megan Fox‑hot though. Emma Watson? That should be interesting.
Now that I think about it, Transformers without Mikaela just ain’t the same. I mean, Sam finding another hot girl who’s good with cars might be a little hard to...

Having server‑side rules is one step closer to not having to leave Mail.app and my Mac on all the time, but MobileMe needs to work on their spam filter as well. I just got viagra in my inbox, which at this day and age should not be happening.

In a week of iPhone‑ and 3G‑only Internet and computing, except for letting my Mac handle my podcast downloads and using it to tidy up my iTunes library, I’ve downloaded about 800 MB — depending on how the iPhone’s counter rounds numbers — and uploaded 83 MB of data. Think I can get away with the 1 GB per month plan on the iPad then.

Watching F1: 2010 Monaco GP
I’m barely up.
That’s one heck of a pair of glasses Eddie.
Jake’s still on the iPad, so maybe it’s okay in the sun.
“Blue”? Those glasses look purple to me.
Gerard Butler must be secretly thinking “WTF?” Still friendly though.
Can Martin really recognise The Sugababes?
Button’s lost quite a bit. That’s going to make things difficult for me.
That’s...

For once Twitter’s usually‑useless trending topics have something new and noteworthy: NBC has cancelled Heroes.
Season one was good, so if they cancelled it then I would’ve cared more. I couldn’t get into the second one and gave up after that, so, “Meh.”

I don’t know what the norm is, but I’d like to think that someone at The Xbox Factory saw that I had the Halo 3 edition and decided to fast track my service order so that I can have it back before the Reach beta ended.
Xbox back eight days after it was sent off.

Is now — finally — a good time for Facebook to introduce a paid‑for, ad‑free service? Then they can leave all these targetted ads behind but still make money. I’ve been asking for it for ages.
Update: Actually, announcing this now might end up being a PR disaster, because it’ll seem like Facebook’s holding our privacy hostage. Dammit.

Have the cracks begun to show in Sky's duty of... →
Based on that clip and the report, I’d say yes. But then I don’t watch Sky News, so I’m hoping that’s not representative of Sky. If Cameron scraps the rule for impartiality and this sort of thing becomes the norm, I’m going to be disappointed.
