Right, karting: Relatively straightforward Quite a few overtakes and lapping of slower karts, though all were simple and not terribly memorable Black flag shown to the guy right behind me, thought it was for me and got confused Had a nice fight with another guy, and apologized to him after the race for being slightly dirty Ran out of gas towards the end and swapped into a different kart with...

LOL. The MacBook isn’t beeping three times during startup anymore, but kernal panics whenever the power adaptor is plugged in. Stupid ExpressCard card reader. It’s all its fault. If I didn’t have that sleep issue, I wouldn’t have had to bring it into Apple, and they wouldn’t have had to swap out a new logic board, so that I be dealing with debug modes, flickering...

Watching F1: 2010 Singapore GP
Martin versus Tanya again. The fuck? Complimenting the grid girls?! “Nice boots”?! Martin versus Tanya: round two! This is hilarious. It’d be epic if they did project the faces of the top five on the sides of that hotel. Love how the circuit is lit up like a stream of light among the relatively dark streets of Singapore. The SLS still looks weird to me. Sutil finally passes Glock....

If you watched something as a kid but can barely remember it, it doesn’t count right? In that case, I just watched Toy Story for the first time.

What’s up with the overdose of Infection in Rumble Pit? Every time it comes up as a choice — and it comes up a lot — everybody votes for it. Why?! It’s annoying!

A technician at the Apple Store told me over the phone that resetting the PRAM gets rid of the debug thing, but for some reason the display still flickers — flashes black very briefly — at random intervals, and depending on my luck AirPort may or may not be enabled. The interface is recognized, but it just won’t turn on. And even if it is on after startup, it does die after a while — “a...

Huh. I should’ve thought to unplug it, but at the time it just didn’t occur to me: the reason my MacBook wouldn’t go to sleep properly is because of my ExpressCard card reader. Apple’s replaced the motherboard twice apparently, so it’s not the slot. All that trouble for something that’s not something they could fix, for something I...

Gowalla Street Team Spot Fixer →
wallabee: Spot Fixer is a fun tool built by Gowalla for the Street Team. On this site, you can quickly improve spots flagged by helpful Gowalla users around the world. This includes adding and correcting information, adjusting locations, and merging duplicates. There’s even a scoreboard! Don’t know of it’s one of “the few bugs”, but it’s not playing nicely with the IE9...

Just been to a preview of Jane Eyre. A good story and a good film, but can’t really say much else since I’ve never read the book. Though I suppose I can now claim to have “read” it, so yea, glad I saw this. According to Jacqueline, some of the music they’d put in as a placeholder while they finalise the score was from Twilight.

The Contradictions between “Reach” and “The Fall... →
I guess it’s nice to have an explanation from Bungie, because I was really confused last night when I got to the last bit of the game. But didn’t one of the panelists on the Halo panel at ComiCon say that one of the best things about working on the Halo universe is that everything’s canon? Yes, this way the Reach story is more beautiful, and it’s awesome to be able to see...

What’s with Etymotic’s hf3? They were announced at CES this year and started shipping in June, yet except for random sellers on eBay, nobody seems to have them. Okay, Etymotic themselves have some, but even they don’t have all the colours right now. Although I’ve only ever wanted the black ones, so that’s fine. Ordered. Good thing they do ship internationally.

Watching F1: 2010 Italian GP
Wonder if Hamilton and his F1 driver pals play on the Xbox or the PlayStation. Hate from the foreign media… Ha! And there’s more of that hate. Martin’s not helping himself. “…he [Bernie Eccleston] is quite short.” Flavio’s back? Was that just a less-than-optimal start from Alonso, or just a great start from Button? Why Lewis? Why? That was always going to be...
