Struggling to design and build an extension to my house in The Sims 3. I think cumulatively I’ve spent upwards of 20 hours building and then tearing it down and restarting the process. The original house didn’t take this long to build as far as I can remember. What an awful problem to have.

It’s finally dealt with. 6500 words on two days, which is actually still 500 short of the minimum. I swear, for a while this morning my brain was interpreting symbols, not alphabets. I used to envy those on the BEng course because they got to move on to new problems while I had to dwell on this leftover from last term. Literature reviews are just glorified book reports!

What literature reviews really are: glorified book reports. And book reports are never fun. Especially when they need to be 7000 words long.

It would seem that notifying my bank about losing my debit card has had an adverse effect on my ability to update apps via the App Stores.

Friends →
So apparently there are bigger problems with Friends than just the need for a simpler main menu. I would like to be able to say whether Sperte’s right or wrong, but getting updates with the app is so slow on my iPhone 3G that I just can’t stand it, and thus haven’t been using it at all. It has so much potential, and can become iOS’ Synergy, or People hub. I see what they...

Watching Witnessing Leo Laporte sign the lease for TWiT’s new studio right now. Congrats. Just thought I’d mention it.

I like what they did with the front. It’s not as bland as it used to be.

Why and How I Switched to a Standing Desk →
I’ve just read Your Office Chair Is Killing You, so this is quite timely. If drawing weren’t something I have to do regularly or had a bigger, wider desk, I’d do what Marco Arment did with his desk.

Item Hunter →
Don’t know how I missed this during Wallabee’s Christmas announcements, but as someone who likes the items in Gowalla and takes it a little bit too seriously, this will be very helpful. It could’ve helped me a lot with the decision about that first Ollie I found. Can’t wait.

Formula One Coverage Goes HD for 2011 →
Time to look into getting a Freeview HD box. Dammit, I hate having extra boxes dangling around. I knew I bought a TV too soon. I wonder if the online stream will be HD as well.

Mac App Store + Wallet 3.2 →
acrylicapps: We’re thrilled to announce that our beloved information manager, Wallet, is now available on the Mac App Store! We just barely missed the launch of the store Thursday morning, thanks to some unexpectedly long review times, but we’re fully behind it — and now offering Wallet through the Mac App Store exclusively. My first (re-)purchase on the Mac App Store. Wallet isn’t...

Read the Fucking HIG →
The Mac App Store made me realise that apps monstrosities as out of place, as ridiculous, and as careless as these aren’t exclusive to Windows. I blame growing up reading top-notch Mac-centric publications that constantly promote the best apps out there for giving me this misconception. How the hell did these even get approved?! Also: I hate apps that insist on living in the menubar. Out...
