John Browett Joins Apple as Senior Vice President... →
I trust that Apple knows what they’re hiring, but I won’t be surprised if the guy from Dixons turns out to be the next Mark Papermaster. Why did they have to look outside though? Did Ron Johnson not train a suitable replacement? Did no one inside Apple want the job?

Lovely. Also: don’t know if Acura worked with The Onion on the scripts or not, but they seem to have planned out this sponsorship well. Kept anticipating a new “Acura‑ate” line.

Got Cities XL off Steam last night. This thing is going to ruin my life. Also, getting the itch to build my own PC again. My laptop, with its four cores and hyperthreading, is great for 3ds Max, but the graphics card isn’t so good. TrackMania at maximum — including a native resolution of 1920 × 1080 — is fine, but not Cities.

Put Your Favourite Threadless Tee on Your Xbox... →
Finally! It’s just a shame there aren’t more of my favourites though; only one of the sixteen guys’ tees do I actually own in real life. Imagine every Threadless shirt ever made available to Xbox Avatars. That’d be cool. And replicate my real world t‑shirt addiction online.

Cognitive ergonomics… Is it ironic that I forgot to pay attention to the time in a paper that includes a question on situation awareness? I spent way too much time on drafting and the first answer. Anyway. That was the third and last of this batch of exams mind vomits. And unless I decide to do postgrad stuff, also the last in my academic life. What to do now… Finish reading the Steve Jobs...

Nat Torkington: Take the truck, the boat, the helicopter, that we’ve sent you. Don’t wait for the time machine, because we’re never going to invent something that returns you to 1965 when copying was hard and you could treat the customer’s convenience with contempt. (via Daring Fireball)

I’m not sure exams are suitable for uni. For pure facts-based stuff like maths and science, sure. But if you want me to “discuss” or “critically evaluate”, I’d rather it be a piece of coursework, and be given time to properly organise my thoughts and arguments. Plus, in this day and age when we can just look stuff up so easily, it’s stupid how we have to remember references,...
