Using Voice Control, Siri's Predecessor, for the First Time
:
(Maybe it's because I've watched the Siri videos a few times recently, but as I was walking into uni this morning, listening to some music, I did something I'd never done and instinctively reached for my headset to talk to my iPhone.)
:
(Oh, and I'd recently bought an iPhone 4 off eBay. That's why I've now got Voice Control.)
Me:
Play “Party in the USA”.
Voice Control:
Playing playlist “Halo 3”.
Me:
Play Miley Cyrus.
Voice Control:
No match found.
Me:
Play “4 Minutes”.
Voice Control:
Playing album “R.O.O.T.S.”.
Me:
What's the time?
Voice Control:
Calling [name] on FaceTime.
Me:
Am I late yet?
Voice Control:
No match found.
:
(Realisation: voice can be cool. It's much better to walk‐and‐talk to my phone “West Wing”‑style than to look down and not see where I'm going.)
:
(Also: I want Siri. Siri would've understood me.)
