Watched the Nokia World opening keynote. It felt a bit awkward, like the Zynga guys at WWDC last year with their FarmVille demo.
Nice phone though. Good OS and good-looking, as you’d expect for a body taken from the N9. Windows Phone finally has its distinctive hardware, something that can’t be mistaken to be just another Android/not-an-iPhone phone at a casual glance on the street, a mobile billboard of sorts.
But “Lumia”‽ Weakest bit about the 800. It sounds weird. I personally would’ve gone for “Live”. Fits with Microsoft’s branding, and — if you pronounce it the other way — plays to Nokia’s new “Amazing Everyday” slogan.
