Tumblr lets you reblog a post in a different form. For example, if there’s a Quote post with a source that I find more interesting than the quote, I can hit the “as…” button on the Reblog page, and reblog it as a Link instead. One of those “as…” options is Text, and of course, once it becomes a Text post, a reblogger can completely change the contents. So I don’t know why I never saw this coming, extreme though it may be.

One day, I’ll go through the notes and find all the mutations. I might even track down who among the 189 million first hit the “as…” button when they were reblogging.
