I’m catching up on my backlog of The Talk Show, so I’ve only just noticed — and am glad to see — that they’ve somewhat cleaned up their episode titles.

It’s always bugged me how podcast producers cram too much into the title, without realising that a lot of this info can be provided through the other tags. The iPod app in iOS provides — as any good podcast player should — a date underneath each entry and sorts by date, thus eliminating the need for episode numbers. And episodes are grouped by shows anyway, so there never had been a reason to have the show name in the episode title.

Apart from the Apple Keynotes podcast, the only other shows I subscribe to that “does it right” are CollegeHumor Originals, Monocle, and the Onion News Network. Podcasters, clean things up.
