8 Years of Great Mac OS X Box Design End in a Stupid Clip Art Cat
okay, so it’s rather generic, but everyone loves cats. and to be honest, the X got kind of boring.
I hope they’re only doing this for Snow Leopard. I can see why though: Snow Leopard is literally not much more than an evolution of Leopard, so the X would probably stay mostly the same. Even the original promo art for Snow Leopard showed a Leopard–esque X. And that would create the problem of 10.5 and 10.6 boxes being virtually indistinguishable from each other on store shelves.
