Alex has had this zeppelin since before I arrived on his server, but the inside has always been empty. I’d joked that I’ll turn it into a home for him sometime, but a) he already has a castle and a bio dome, and b) we do Creative, so a permanent residence doesn’t serve much purpose.

But he’d recently mentioned the idea of getting his own place IRL, and since I can’t afford to buy him a house or help him with buying said house, I thought I’d do something in Minecraft instead. Even went one better by giving him his own little world.

When you enter Huntenburg — the zeppelin — you come into a small hut, complete with a bed, chest, workbench, and furnace. But then you exit the cabin, and there’s a miniature version of Minecraft, complete with a plains, desert, and (some sort of) mountain biomes.

The small waterfall at the far end eventually ends at a Creeper face; the water forms the Creeper’s mouth, and two stone blocks make up the eyes.

I also hid some ores here and there, which I haven’t told him about, though I don’t really intend for them to be found.

Lighting is imperfect though, as you’d imagine for a sealed stone cylinder in the middle of the sky. There are torches all over the floor, but the sides of the “sky” couldn’t be completely lit without putting torches on the wall/“in the sky” itself, so there are patches of light and dark. I’ve even put torches on top of the clouds, so that you can see that the sky is blue (wool), but more importantly — and this isn’t something I thought I’d say — to stop mobs from spawning above the clouds.
